We love “Pretty Darn Quick” POP Displays because they are a relatively inexpensive way to gain valuable real estate inside a retail store. PDQ displays are versatile – they can be shipped and easily assembled by store personnel (aka knock-downs) or they can arrive on a pallet fully merchandised and ready to sell (aka shippers.) They can be small counter-top trays made of folded cardstock or larger, freestanding displays made out of corrugates, wood, or even plastics and metal.
PDQ displays not only offer you the opportunity to educate potential customers about your product, but their placement allows for natural upselling. Easily share your story with consumers as well as address a need or desire they can fill by purchasing your product.
What is a PDQ display exactly?
A PDQ display is basically a temporary or semi-permanent in-store display that is very easy to set up in a retail store and sells product within the display. Floor displays are free standing displays, in the path of the customer, that are ideal for products that can get lost on a shelf. PDQ Trays are counter displays that are great for impulse buys and small items. These displays are much smaller and can be easily installed across multiple locations. Side wings fit on the side of an aisle for extra visibility when someone enters or exits an aisle.
How do I benefit from sending out PDQ displays to retail stores?
In retail, it’s all about the sale. A customer doesn’t walk in the store lest they want to buy! If you can gain in-store real estate by investing in a PDQ display, you and the retailer can start selling product immediately without the need to move products or stock shelves. You can also use graphics and branding on PDQ displays to educate consumers about new product technologies or marketing initiatives, gaining valuable brand awareness as well.
How are PDQ displays made ?
The best material to make a PDQ display out of depends on a number of factors. Corrugates or cardstocks are often a default answer since turn-around time is usually “pretty darn quick” and costs can be low when mass-producing thousands of point-of-sale displays. However, cardboard is not always a one size fits all solution. We are good at what we do and usually combine materials like cardboard, wood or plastics to create a custom display solution that is durable and budget appropriate for your specific project.
When Forge creates custom displays, we design the structure, shapes, and graphics to get your product noticed on a retail floor and sold as quickly as possible. From the very start of a project, we consider how early design decisions may affect shipping box sizing or weight. We use our years of experience in design, substrates and engineering to create custom display solutions that not only look amazing but arrive on time and within budget.
Let’s make something great together and get started on a custom PDQ display for your next product!
